Jerusalem District Outline Plan (TAMAM/1)

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd led the transportation planning effort for the latest update to the regional statutory plan for the Jersualem District, designed to support a population of over 1,000,000 by the year 2020. The plan includes design of the roadway and rail systems and transport policies appropriate to the needs of the growing national capitol.

Eilat Master Plan for Transportation

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd conducted this update for the roadway network of the City of Eilat, including long-range (year 2020) and interim (year 2010) staging of roadway improvements. AmAv developed a transportation model and GIS using the state-of-the-art TransCAD package to pay special attention to the impacts and requirements of the tourism industry.

South Tel-Aviv Transportation Master Plan

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd prepared a master plan (1:5000) for the South Tel-Aviv and Yafo areas, in an effort to address the transport impacts of development projects (some 1,300,000 sq mtr of floor area and 6,300 residential units) proposed to be built within a 5-km x 6-km area. The plan addresses issues of street network discontinuity as well as the urban design needs and historic resources of the plan area neighborhoods. Plan preparation included development of a TransCAD traffic forecasting model for the metropolitan region.

Tel-Aviv Light-Rail (Red Line) Preliminary and Detailed Design

MATI (Jerusalem Transportation Systems Ltd) provided transportation consulting services towards completion of the preliminary design of the first light-rail line for the Tel Aviv Metropolitan area, including detailed traffic arrangements for the 22 km line.

MATI (Jerusalem Transportation Systems Ltd) provided transportation consulting services towards completion of the preliminary design of the first light-rail line for the Tel Aviv Metropolitan area, including detailed traffic arrangements for the 18 km line.

Malkat-HaKrayot Master Plan

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd prepared a master plan for a new town to be nestled betwee several existing communities in Israel's north. The proposed town of 40,000 residential units would include substantial industrial zones and light-rail access.

Tziporit Industrial Zone Statutory Plan

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd has provided consulting services for an industrial zone which is expected to include some 2,000,000 sq mtr of floor space and provide workplaces for some 40,000 employees in the Galil region of (northern) Israel.

Beer-Sheva Mass Transit Feasibility Study

MATI (Jerusalem Transportation Systems Ltd) provided transportation consulting services towards analyzing the feasibility of alternative transport networks and technologies to serve the City of Beer-Sheva and its adjacent communities.

Cross-Israel Highway Traffic Design

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd serves as traffic planning coordinator for the proposed Cross-Israel highway. The first 80-km section includes designs for the latest technologies in toll collection and traffic monitoring and control.

Uganda National Plan for Traffic Safety Improvement

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd in association with Phoenix Engineering Ltd provided consulting services to the government of Uganda under a World Bank project to provide a multi-disciplinary effort to reduce traffic accidents in Uganda. The project provided engineering recommendations for 250 km of roadway in three specific corridors. Nationwide, the project recommended improvements in roadway design, enforcement, education, medical response, documentation and statistics.

Zanzibar National Plan for Roadway Investments

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd in association with Phoenix Engineering Ltd provided consulting services to the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar under a World Bank project to prioritize improvements to 1200 km of roadways on the two islands of Zanzibar. The recommended improvements addressed the existing and future needs anticipated due to the accellerated growth of tourism in the region.

Tanzania Economic Study of Bridge Corridors

AmAv Transportation Planning Ltd in association with Phoenix Engineering Ltd provided consulting services to the Government of Tanzania under a World Bank project to prioritize improvements to a series of 20 bridges in three corridors serving 220 km of roadways throughout the country. The resulting scheme weighed the costs of alternative improvements to the bridges against the economic value of the improvements to the transportation system.
